The today show this morning did a spot about crib safety for babies under 1. More information about how you should not put anything in the baby's crib because there is an increase risk of SIDS. Check it out...

Painting with mud!
One of the activities I am planning on doing when we are at the lake next week is to paint with mud! I found the idea in the Xplor Adventures in Nature magazine! If you live in Missouri it is free! Go to xplormo.org/node/2618
Make a Dirt Shirt: You will need a clean white shirt Vinegar and MUD!!!!
Find some thick mud, scoop it into a cup , and pour in vinegar until the mud feels like pudding. Use the mud to paint a design on your shirt. To make the design permanent, let the shirt sit in the sun for at least four hours, rinse the shirt in cold water, clean it in a washing machine, and run it through a hot dryer!
SO MUCH FUN!!! I can't wait to see what we create!! YAY MUD!

Puffy Paint!
I just found this recipe for puffy paint on Pinterest and I can't wait to try it!! It seems super easy and it is edible so my little man can create as well! YAY!!
puffy paint!
set aside one cup refined flour in a big bowl. Mixed three tea-spoons
baking powder and one tea-spoon salt. To this add enough water so as to get
a thick pouring consistency.
20 - 30 secs in the microwave after painting is done!

breakfast
Let me start off by saying I don't have any pictures to share since my little speed racer Gianna took off with my camera and dropped it! RIP camera!
For breakfast this morning I needed to get a lot of the dishes done and do a wipe down of the kitchen; I have seen idea floating around pinterst about using pancakes and painting them with colored syrup or butter. Well I love the thought of that but did not want to use butter or syrup for a variety of reasons. So we colored applesauce as our paint! She loved painting her pancake with the applesauce and in turn ate a huge breakfast! YAY!!! We will do this again and maybe by then I will have a new camera! ;)

photo wall
I am finally hanging the pictures I had professionally taken of the kiddos every 3 months for the first yr of life! There needs to be some words added in so here are the ones I am going to put.....
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
How do you measure, a year in the life?
I am going to use the idea of letters on the wall from the blog, This Thrifty House: http://thisthriftyhouse.blogspot.com/2010/09/iron-on-wall-art.html
I'll post pictures when it is finished!!!!! Hope to do it today but like most of you it depends on a 2 year old and a 9 month old and since it is Spring Break and hubby as well! ;)

another use for the kitchen table!
I keep seeing ideas for place mats that kids can draw on floating around the Internet and I love the idea. When I thought about adding it to the To Do list I kind of giggled because I knew I would not get it done. So I started thinking......we have a glass top table......we have window markers.......we can draw on our table! YAY!!! Well I think I love drawing on the table more than Gianna does! Our favorite thing to do is draw pictures together and work on 1 masterpiece!
It can smear when the ink is still wet but once it dries it does not wipe off unless wet. To clean just use a wipe or window cleaner. Whatever you normally use. Gianna is cleaning it off in this picture so we can start over! Have fun everyone!
