Germany
You need government approval before naming your child. and officials can veto monikers that don't clearly indicate the baby's sex (like Sam), also names that could subject your baby to teasing and harm can receive a veto!
Ukraine
Many in this country leave naming the baby up to the priest. Parents can suggest ideas but the priest gets the final say at the ceremony eight days after the birth!
